For the first time Galerie Max Hetzler presents such a comprehensive selection of works by André Butzer in two parallel running exhibitions. The gallery space at Bleibtreustrasse displays recent paintings from 2016 and 2017 as well as a new artist book – created in collaboration with Hans Werner Holzwarth (Holzwarth Publications). Whereas the space at Goethestrasse ofers an insight into the early work of the artist with paintings from 1999 to 2008, selected from private collections.

In the 1960s, the Rhineland was an important focus for massive changes in contemporary art. A new internationally networked  generation of artists turned away from traditional notions of art. Inspiration came from everyday life. Everyday objects became the material for art. These artists worked in urban contexts,  they broke across  the borders between disciplines, and they collaborated with musicians, writers, filmmakers and dancers. 

Brussels' leading alternative market POPPOSITIONS is preparing for it's 7th edition and will take place during the Art Brussels week from 18 to 22 April 2018, showcasing work by emerging artists represented by galleries, project spaces and artist initiatives.

The exhibition Optik Schröder II at mumok – Museum moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien presents a representative selection from the collection of Alexander Schröder. 

Péter Korniss is one of the greatest masters of contemporary Hungarian photography, a recipient of the “Artist of the Nation” award, the Kossuth Prize and the Joseph Pulitzer Memorial Prize. His work centres on documenting the disappearing lifestyle of peasants in Hungary and Transylvania. The series of images that are featured in this exhibition at the Hungarian National Gallery, titled Continuous Memory, concentrate on the most important aspects of his entire career.
