Ali Gallefoss (b. 1989, Bergen) works with a diverse variety of materials and techniques to create objects which explore the coincidences and possibilities that lie within the process of making. Merging functionality with visual expression, his work blurs the border between art and design, and offers an unorthodox perspective on our contemporary world. Gallefoss holds a BA in Furniture and Spatial Design from the Bergen Academy of Art and Design, and an MA from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts. Winner of the Bo Bedre’s Design Awards as Newcomer of the Year in 2020, he has been exhibited at QB Gallery (Oslo, 2022 and 2021), Galleri Format (Oslo, 2022 and 2020), Adorno (London, 2021), 3daysofdesign (Copenhagen, 2020), Dover Street Market (Beijing, 2019), and Stockholm Furniture Fair (2017) among others. Gallefoss lives and works in Oslo, Norway.
Oda Iselin Sønderland (b.1996, Oslo) works mainly with watercolour painting and recently sculpture, creating figurative work that draws in personal life experiences together with elements and shared stories from her own and other cultures, ranging from magical creatures to characters with an appearance that alludes to Japanese anime. The structure of her work often plays with frames and an image within an image, constructing an inside versus an outside. This connects to the recurring topic of a split self and opposing forces that often occur in her work. Sønderland holds a BA in Graphic Design and Illustration from The National Academy of the Arts in Oslo, and an MA in Painting from The Royal College of Art in London. She has been exhibited at Marlborough Gallery (London, 2022), Castor Gallery (London, 2022), NEVVEN (Gothenburg, 2022), Arsenal Contemporary (Toronto, 2021), Like A Little Disaster (Polignano a Mare, 2021), Projet Pangee (Montreal, 2020), and Galleri Golsa (Oslo, 2019) among others. Sønderland lives and works in London, UK.
Tadashi Toyama’s (b.1985, Nagano) work naturally combines his idiosyncratic experiences with imagination, reality with fiction, and nature with culture to construct a unique visual world of his own. Intuitively blending colours, contours and compositions on canvas, he creates paintings that embody a strong sense of vibrancy. Toyama holds an MFA (Akademie Brief and Meisterschüler) from the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf, and he has been exhibited at Y Art Gallery (Port of Spain, 2022), Kunstverein Bad Godesberg (Bonn, 2022), Kunst im Hafen (Düsseldorf, 2021), K21 Kunstsammlung NRW (Düsseldorf, 2020), and Open White Gallery (Berlin, 2020) among others. Toyama lives and works in Düsseldorf, Germany.
